Samsung Bada UI unveiled in beautiful stills, reason for existing still blurry

We hate to harsh on a new phone platform — what could be more exciting, after all, than a whole new take on handset software? — but we’re pretty confused by Samsung’s Bada . Still, these leaked screenshots fill us with some hope: it looks fairly pretty, and quite a bit more intuitive than the standard Samsung UI. It also seems to be an odd visual mashup of Android and Symbian, but in a good sort of way, and we look forward to the sort of democratization of touchphones it seems to represent. There, that wasn’t very harsh-ey at all! Now check out…

MiKandi: The World’s First Porn App Store for Android [Android Apps]

The only reason VHS won over Betamax was because of porn. And HD DVD very nearly eclipsed Blu-ray (sorry to bring up bad memories) due to Sony’s reluctance to allow adult entertainment publishers onto its format. Now, Android’s 16,000 apps haven’t scared Apple yet, but an alternative app store that’s sprung up could see Apple’s prudishness be its downfall. MiKandi is a white label app store for free and paid-for apps, allowing developers to upload more content around their filthy apps—including YouTube tutorials if you’re so inclined. Asking developers “Maybe you’re feeling like your innovative juices are being squeezed by not having the screenshots or video you need to properly showcase and sell your product?” they promise not to restrict any app …

Leaked Images Of The Facebook Android App Surface

When Android made its handset debut on the T-Mobile G1 back in October of 2008, a nasty bout of drama between Facebook and Google kept the former from developing on the nascent platform. 9 months later, Facebook took a look at the ever growing number of Android handsets and decided to move past the politics. Bing! Microsoft Prepares For War With A Revamped Search Engine (Screenshots)

Today, Microsoft publicly unveiled its soon-to-launch search engine Bing. It will become available over the next few days, and be fully launched by June 3. On the surface, Bing has a distinct gloss. The home page features a rotation of stunning photography, for instance, which can be clicked on to produce related image search results. But the most significant changes are under the covers. “We have taken the algorithmic programming up an order of magnitude,” says Microsoft senior vice president Yusuf Mehdi. Each search result page is customized according to what type of search you do (health, travel, shopping, news, sports). The algorithms determine not only the order of results on the page…

14 brand new Palm Pre webOS emulator screenshots leak out

As more and more people are getting their hands on the Pre, it looks like a few more developers have been given access to the SDK emulator. Well, either that or someone who has had access for a while got a little antsy and finally caved to leaking a ton of emulator screenshots. If these are legit, it looks like the webOS emulator runs on Sun’s VirtualBox virtualization application. Anybody feel like sending the webOS virtual image our way? While the screenshots don’t show anything we’d imagine Palm was trying to keep top secret, they do venture into a few spots that weren’t …
