G1v2 spoilers: it’s a Moto! Wait, no, it’s not

Remember that picture of the G1v2 we saw last week? We were puzzled at the bottom row buttons, and a commenter at BGR figured out the riddle. It turns out those are Motorola-style buttons (see them here and here ?), not HTC. I thought the keyboard looked HTC-ish, but hey, we all make mistakes right? In any case, the phone pictured appears to be a Motorola phone running Android, although nothing can be said for sure just from one picture. It should also be said that the recently pictured Samsung “Bigfoot” looks a hell of a lot more …

Rumor: T-Mobile G1v2 in October?

Makes you forget the Touch Pro2 for a moment, doesn’t it?  Makes sense for HTC to use the same ploy as in its Touch series of Windows smartphones and give new life to a successful Android device that’s starting to creak in its ageing joints.  The above image is a revision of the G1 that surfaced on BGR, and have our fingers crossed that this isn’t just a mockup as the idea of a QWERTY-enhanced, Android-powered smartphone has us drooling already.  If true, we could expect the G1v2 to land as early as October for $148 on a two-year T-Mobile contract.  We’ll let you know…

Sketchy roadmap has T-Mobile G2 for summer, G1 v2 and Samsung Houdini for fall?

Mysterious roadmaps chock-full of pretty pictures of fanciful handsets from the future have a tendency to appear every once in a while; on the surface, we have no particular reason to believe this one over any other, but we’d like to. According to TmoToday’s supposed leak, the HTC-sourced G2 / Magic is expected this summer — which seems like an incongruous statement considering that we’re now expecting it to launch as the myTouch 3G . That would have us believing that the doc is either fake or out of date, and if it’s the latter, that makes the other two scoops here still relevant and interesting: first up, a second version of the G1 is said to be launching in the fall (looking a heck of a lot like…
