Music, Gaming, iPhone OS May Be Topics at Apple Event

With Apple saying only that it will unveil its “latest creation” at a media event in San Francisco next week, speculation about music, gaming and a new iPhone operating system is adding to the tablet buzz that has been building for weeks. Ever since Apple last month reserved the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts for Jan. 27, analysts have guessed it was time for the computer giant to roll out its version of a tablet computer. Android Finally Gets An Official Yammer App

Finally. Over a year after iPhone users got their native Yammer fix, Android has an official Yammer application available on Android Market. The application, while still fairly basic, comes with support for most of Yammer’s core functionality. If you use Yammer and you have an Android phone, you’ll want this app. We can’t link directly to the app because Google still hasn’t launched a strong web presence for the Market, but you can find it by running a query for “Yammer” from your phone. First Look: Zipcar app for iPhone hits the road

Apple Admits Spotify Streaming Music To the App Store

In what may be a move to appear like less of a walled garden, Apple approved the Spotify steaming-music application for the iPhone this week. FORGET APPLE: Google Voice for iPhone to Reemerge as Web App

Last month, Google Voice’s iPhone application was rejected from the iPhone app store, a controversial move that the FCC is looking into .
