Evoline Port Lounge Table

Is this the direction coffee tables will be taking in the future? The Evoline Port Lounge table certainly looks modern, and since we’re all hooked to our laptops and mobile devices, it will really come in handy as it sports 2 main sockets, and 2 Ethernet ports to keep your device powered, and in touch with the Internet. It’s manufactured in durable aluminum, and its composite covers are available in silver, black or stainless steel. Did we mention that it also looks incredibly cool? BPhone Is Netbook And Mobile Phone

It’s certainly not your run-of-the-mill cell phone, but do you think the BPhone has a shot at all? This hybrid gadget will be combining the features of a mobile phone and a netbook. There isn’t any mention of the OS that will be powering the device, but if trends are anything to go by, maybe it will be powered by Google’s Android? Would you get such a device as your main mobile phone, or do you think that netbooks and phones should remain separate? Google’s Nexus One Could Be Costly Without a Carrier

With Google days away from unveiling its unlocked, HTC-built smartphone, the devil is in the details. The Nexus One handset, which has been revealed to have some intriguing features, is said to pack a $530 price tag. But without an exclusive phone carrier and multiple price plans, consumer reaction is hard to predict. “It will all depend on how the device is rolled out,” said Kirk Parsons, senior director of wireless service analysis at JD Power and Associates. “Will it be picked up by a carrier or sold separately? What are the price points for the device? All these decisions will definitely impact consumer reaction and, ultimately, its popularity.” As a …

Publisher Will Display Content on Two E-Readers

Sony Electronics, which has delayed the delivery of its electronic book reader, is hoping a deal with News Corp. will make it worth the wait for consumers. The companies sealed a deal Thursday that will enable Sony Reader users to view content from The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post. The deal comes after reports that News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch was unhappy with the company’s deal with Amazon.com for the Kindle. Consumers will have to choose between two different subscription models to access the publications’ digital content, and News Corp. will reportedly get better control of subscriptions. A monthly digital subscription to the Journal will cost $14.99. The price for MarketWatch news and columns is $10.99, and a monthly subscription to the…

Twitter App for the Zune HD: It works, but it’s buggy and censors tweets

Oh now this is exciting. Microsoft released a Twitter application for the Zune HD a few moments ago, and I’ve been tasked with testing it out for your edification. Spoiler: it works, it’s buggy, and I can’t see the sense in using it. Installation was not easy. Oh, sure, loading up the Zune software and navigating to the appropriate section was simple enough, and syncing the application was as expected, but my Zune HD wouldn’t connect to the Internet for whatever reason. An error message popped up saying “Disconnect your Zune HD from the computer before trying to connect to a wireless network.” To that effect, at…

Motorola Backflip / Enzo bringing Android contortions to AT&T

Just when we though this decade had run short on phone form factors, Motorola comes along to blow our minds with this new Backflip / Enzo / Motus device . Amazingly, the most interesting part of this device might not even be the reverse hinge design, which flips the keyboard back behind the screen and faces out when not in use, but the fact that there’s a clear-as-day AT&T logo on it — something we’d heard rumored , but dared not believe until we saw it with our own eyes. The rest of the leaked photos go on to corroborate earlier rumors: there’s a touchpad on the back of the keyboard to aid in no-look scrolling, it’s running Blur on top of Android 1.5 (with a few AT&T apps, Yahoo search and no…

ITG xpPhone seen powering up on video

ITG has managed to keep its xpPhone in the news ever since firing up its pre-order page back in September. Just a day after seeing the Windows XP-based MID / phone / whatchamacallit in the wild, we’re now looking at the first known video of it booting up. Granted, the device shown after the break is just an “engineering sample,” but hey, progress is progress. Go ‘head, take a peek — ain’t no shame in the game. The Pen de Touch, for Driving Light Cycles [Design]

The Pen de Touch provides haptic feedback while interacting with virtual objects. It also looks like Jeff Bridges could streak across the interface any second. If the device “senses” contact with a virtual boundary, it reacts accordingly. For example, If you’re drawing on a virtual surface, the pen pulls in the opposite direction to represent friction. The idea is to use the device in museum applications and such, but let’s face it. This thing was built as a Light Cycle control device. All other uses are secondary. [ Tachi Lab via Designboom ]
