AOpen ION Powered GP7A Series HTPC

AOpen USA has come up with a new barebones mini HTPC, giving you one more option if you’re planning to set up an HTPC in your living room. The XC Mini GP7A series PC supports full 1080p HD video playback via it’s integrated NVIDIA ION (GeForce 9300M) graphics chip, and will also support Intel’s socket P Penryn Core 2 Duo or Celeron M processors. R2-D2 Finally Discovered In Star Trek [Star Trek]

At last, here’s the droid we were all looking for: This is the frame in which you can clearly see R2-D2 in Star Trek . This time there’s absolutely no doubt about it. Not only the image is crystal clear, but the fact has been confirmed to me by one of the movie’s sequence supervisors at Industrial Light & Magic—the same guy who said this was just the shuttle . I feel now like I imagine my dog Jones felt whenever I took his collar off and scratched him on the neck. Oh yesyeyeyeyes. YES. Harf. Woof.

We’ve got good news, and we’ve got not-so-good news. The good news: PhoneArena just got their hands on 6 screen shots showing off a handful of devices making their first appearances in Verizon’s inventory system. BlackBerry Bold Visual Voicemail Feature Now Live, OS Drops Tuesday [BlackBerry]

Here’s a cool little quirk for you BlackBerry Bold owners out there: Turns out the visual voicemail feature is live in the system, even though the upgraded Bold OS doesn’t go live until Tuesday. So… if you have a Bold with the visual voicemail icon on it, simply call up AT&T and ask a rep to activate the feature. Voila. This completely free trick has been confirmed by the folks over at BGR, so have at it, or wait until the new OS arrives Tuesday. [ BGR ]

T-Mobile’s CTO, Expect Android devices from 3 manufacturers this year

T-Mobile is betting big on Android this year. Cole Brodman, T-Mobile’s CTO, We are looking to launch multiple Android-based devices in the second half of this year with three partners, Three he says ? HTC and Samsung have already been confirmed by the leaked Android roadmap , but who is the third? It would likely be Huawei with a T-Mobile branded handset.
