Google Steps Up Nexus One Endgame with AT&T Model

It shouldn’t come as a total surprise, but Google today launched a version of its Nexus One handset with support for AT&T’s 3G network . The unlocked phone is available directly through Google for the same $529 price as the T-Mobile version. With support for the 850/1900/2100 MHz bands, this model works also works on Canada’s Rogers Wireless network. And also like the T-Mobile model, the phone offers quad-band voice support for usage outside of North America. The only major difference between this version and the initial one is that Google hasn’t announced a subsidized price for use with AT&T. Customers can purchase the T-Mobile version at full …

AMD lays out Open Stereo 3D Initiative at GDC

NVIDIA has certainly been more active in 3D than ATI / AMD has as of late, but it looks like the situation may be starting to change, as AMD has taken advantage of the just concluded GDC to lay out its new Open Stereo 3D Initiative. While the company isn’t yet drumming up too much fanfare about it (or even issuing a press release), it does seem to have gotten things started on an ambitious note, with the initiative promising to provide consumers with “more choice, more innovation, and lower cost.” In the nearer term, that will apparently translate to products like 3D-enabled ATI Eyefinity technology, 120Hz displays, stereo 3D notebooks, and various bundled solutions and…

What type of phone should a George Costanza buy?

As luck would have it, I’ll be in the market for a brand-new phone in the coming weeks. Terribly exciting, yes. But there’s a bit of a problem: the two “biggest” phones out there, the iPhone and all those Android-based ones , rub me the wrong way. Longtime readers will know that I’m fairly neurotic, sorta like George Costanza from Seinfeld. Does the phrase Jerkstore mean anything to you? That’s 100 percent me. (Yes, the irony in linking to Google-owned YouTube is not lost on me.) So what’s a person to do when, for reasons I’ll…

Earth vs. Moon App is free today

Lego-borne BlackBerry Tour probably still lacks WiFi

How do you know you’ve reached status as an internationally-recognized icon? When someone decides to make a Lego representation of you, that’s when — so our hats go off to you, BlackBerry Tour , for this distinguished accomplishment. Well-traveled Lego artist Nathan Sawaya was recently tapped to turn RIM’s global CDMA traveler into a life-sized monolith of plastic bricks, though with an unusual twist: his unnamed patron wanted a working video display, too, which required some “trial and error” to integrate. It might not fit in a pocket, but we reckon you could still find a belt holster that could swallow this thing. Follow the break for video! Nokia C6 Sports Sideways Sliding Keyboard

It’s always hard to confirm whether leaked pictures are authentic or not, but assuming this latest leaked picture of the Nokia C6 is authentic, it looks like the phone will be something like a Nokia Nuron that decided to grow a sideways-sliding keyboard. Do you think that this is what the Nokia C6 will eventually look like, or is it just a clever Photoshop job? Rumors are going around that the C6 is slated to be released in Europe this summer, so if you’re decided on this phone, you’d better start saving those pennies right now.
