The Rise Of Transactional Advertising

This guest post is authored by Alex Rampell , the founder and CEO of TrialPay . This is a follow on to an earlier article “The End Of Brand Advertising,” where Rampell argues that the collision of online and offline advertising paradigms will have a profound impact on free content. Rampell’s most recent guest post for us was in the wake of the Scamville series: Tragedy Of The Social Gaming Commons: A Blueprint For Change The marriage of brand advertising and free content is facing peremptory annulment. There is no shortage of punditry around “the death of the media company” and whether it is a just dessert or a societal travesty. But that’s looking…

CrunchDeals: Buy two, get one free Xbox 360 Platinum hits

Oh, winter snowstorms. Your lion’s roar is but a cat’s meow provided you don’t knock out the power or prevent the UPS or FedEx trucks from completing their routes. Sirius Stiletto 2 experiences final curtain call

The Sirius Stiletto 2 portable satellite radio seems to have reached the end of the road, and if you want one of these, it would be pretty hard to locate since only a few areas have them, and in dwindling stocks to boot. The discontinuation of the Sirius Stiletto 2 could be due to public sentiment moving away from dedicated hardware for portable satellite radio, alongside Sirius XM turning to the adaptation of current devices in order to provide portable audio capability, including its dedicated Internet radio app for iPhone and iPod touch owners and the XM SkyDock. In gaming parlance, GG Sirius Stiletto 2 and good night! Permalink: Sirius Stiletto 2 experiences final curtain call from Ubergizmo | Hot

Netbooks Are Hot, But Are They Worthy?

Netbooks have been flying off store shelves all year long, driven by consumers looking for ways to save money during economically challenging times. According to the latest figures from DisplaySearch, netbook revenue is poised to rise 72 percent year-over-year to $11.4 billion in 2009, even as sales of portable PCs overall decline 12 percent to $109.4 billion. With the economy now on the mend, however, netbook sales are expected to be challenged next year because of continuing declines in the average selling price (ASP) of standard notebooks, which offer significant performance advantages. As a result, notebook makers are steadily “increasing the performance gap” in comparison with netbooks “while narrowing the price gap,” noted DisplaySearch Director John Jacobs. …
